Who We Are
4th Street Forum is a nonpartisan program, which promotes public discussion of political and social issues that are of concern to our community. Each week, a panel of experts presents their views on a chosen topic and explores solutions with the audience and the 4th Street Forum moderator.
Milwaukee Public Television (MPTV) tapes the forums in front of a studio audience for later broadcast on Channel 10.1, Fridays, 10:00 PM, and again on Sundays, 9:00 AM. The 4th Street Forum audience is an important part of the program. It is a unique opportunity for the public to ask questions of the panelists. We invite you to join our audience and the discussion. The forums are free and run from September through May.
There are many other ways to view 4th Street Forum. As of September 2009, Milwaukee Public Television provides video viewing of each program. (Programs available the Monday after weekend broadcasts.) Programs run, as well, on Time Warner Cable’s, "Wisconsin on Demand," (WIOD), Channel 1111. DVD copies are available for checkout from the Milwaukee County Federated Library System.
When and Where
Forums begin at noon on Thursdays at the historic landmark, Milwaukee Turner Hall, 1034 N. 4th St., Milwaukee, WI (map). Bring your lunch or purchase it from Historic Turner Restaurant.
How We Work
Topics are chosen by the 4th Street Forum Executive Committee and special advisors. We also encourage topic submissions from our program viewers. Each forum has four panelists and a moderator.
