For the past few months, Nick Lee, a graduate student from UW-Milwaukee’s Public History program, has been working on a summer research project focused on highlighting important events from the Milwaukee Turner’s significant 166-year history. After spending the summer exploring the archival collections in Turner Hall, UW-Milwaukee and in the Milwaukee Public Library, Nick is currently working on assembling historic photos and scans of important documents and images, along with writing scripts for several short-form documentaries. Nick is excited to be continuing on with us this Fall, as he looks forward to continued work towards the production of several short video vignettes of Milwaukee Turners history that will be published online and shareable via social media. These pieces will be aimed at allowing the broader public to access and learn more about our organization’s past and its important contributions to the development of our city.
